Central Africa Republic Tuesday join the likes of Nigeria and Cameroon in the quarter-final of the 26th FIBA Africa Championship for Men with a 71-66 points victory over Egypt.

Central Africa powered on by guard Michael Mokongo who netted 15 points, 4 assist and 3 rebounds won the first and third quarters by 18-12 and 19-13 points but gave up the second and fourth quarters by 16-17 and 18-24 points to put paid to the ambition of the Egyptian from advancing to the quarter-finals.

Mokongo was joined on the score sheet by the duo of Lionel Bomayako and Guy Kodjo-Sitchi with 12 points each with Regis Kounjia grabbing 17 rebounds for the FIBA Africa Zone-4 side.
