Defending champion of the FIBA Africa Championship for Men Angola Tuesday were made to sweat by fellow FIBA Africa Zone-6 side Mozambique in the day’s last second round game winning to win the game by 82-71 points.
 
The champion picked the first three quarters by 21-15, 18-17, 25-20 but lost the last quarter by 18-19 points to the determined Mozambican side who finished third from group-A in a pairing many gave the Coach Joseba Garcia no chance.
 
Angola guard Carlos Morais led the floor with 25 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists with reigning championship most valuable player, Joaquim Gomes posted his best game since the championship began with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks.
 
Angola will now keep a quarter-final date with Cameroon on Thursday in what promise to be an explosive game giving the pedegree of the Lions who yet to drop a game in the championship.
