After securing an early lead of 20-11 points in the first quarter of the last eight final round against Morocco Mali failed to lift its game thus allowing the Moroccan to over-run it from the second quarter losing by 08-22, 20-24 and 11-23 points for a cumulative scores of 59-80 points.
 
Morocco forward Abderrahim Najah led his side quest for victory with a double double effort of 15 points, 10 rebounds. Abdelhakim Zouita had 15 points, 4 rebounds, Sophain Rafai and Kamal Hachid added 14 points, 4 rebounds and 13 points, 4 rebounds respectively.
 
Morocco now has a date against fellow FIBA Africa Zone-1 side and second runner-up in the 2009 edition of the Afrobasket, Tunisia on Thursday at the Palais des Sports Antananarivo, Madagascar.
